Today, we started developing the establishment of a micro-grant program that will help other Horizon sites that Miss Hall’s students volunteer at every Thursday morning. The grant will benefit these Horizon sites by providing an item that will make their everyday work easier and more productive.
For example, last year, Lily worked at Western Mass Labor Action where she worked on big mailings. Their paper supply closet needed new organizers for paper and other office supplies. A MAPS microgrant could provide the organizers and filers that could boost productivity. By providing these essential items, MAPS could contribute in a small way to other Horizons sites and make a small but concrete impact. Interested students who want to request a purchase of an item that will benefit their Horizon sites can apply to our micro-grant.
We will review the applications and fund the Horizon sites that best fulfills our mission. Applications are due March 10 and will be available on Mira’s Desk.
